I have been on the hunt for the perfect day and night cream for what seems like forever. I feel as though I have tried everything on the market with ‘meh’ results, so I was really looking for a product that would wow me.
I went in skeptical, however, Cellogica Day and Night Cream did just that. It certainly wowed me!
I will be honest, I am in my mid-30s and did not really start taking care of my skin—or developing a daily care regimen—until about five or six years ago. I spent my twenties worshiping the sun, so I do have some sun damage and dark spots around my nose. I also struggled with acne for the vast majority of my teens and early twenties, so I’m still recovering from the products developed to beat that. Anyone with acne knows those products are super drying, and can quickly cause itchiness and flakiness. My skin was so thirsty!
That said, I am very careful not to use anything that is greasy, as I’m still prone to blemishes. Cellogica’s Day Cream is incredibly hydrating, but not at all greasy. I have definitely noticed throughout the past couple weeks of use, that the day cream has evened out my skin tone and reduced any blemishes or mostly healed acne marks. The day cream also protects against the sun’s harmful UV rays, so it’s really nice to know I’m repairing damage and protecting my face at the same time—no need to add an extra layer of sunscreen.
Typically I wash my face in the shower and apply the day cream after drying my skin gently with a fresh towel. If I do elect to wear makeup that day I ensure the moisturizer is dry before applying. If I am going makeup free, I go about my day with no worries. I typically take a run in the late afternoon, so again, I love that this has a protection factor. Very nice when it’s sunny out and all I have to do is throw on a pair of sunglasses. Also—you only need a small application, so the bottle does seem as if it will last a while.
So how does it work? Well, there is apparently a special stem cell technology pulled from the strains of Swiss apples and Alpine roses. When combined, these extracts regenerate new skin cells and breathe life into the ones you already have. Hyaluronic Acid is also a useful ingredient found in the cream, as it reduces wrinkles. Now I’m not a scientist. All I can tell you is that this works.
Cellogica’s night cream has the same active ingredients, and I am happy to report I have been just as pleased with it. It’s both restorative and preventative, so I can really see it working. I usually just wash my face at night, slather a bit of night cream on and head to bed. The cream works wonders while I snooze.
For those of you who are curious about my makeup routine and preferred products, I cannot recommend Veer Cosmetics foundation enough. I am typically not brand loyal—or should I say I was not–until I purchased this little gem, Like I said, I have struggled with acne my entire life and unfortunately have small scarring, namely ice pick scars around my jawline. It goes without saying that I’m pretty self-conscious about these, so I’ve tried every product on the market to cover them up. They only thing that has really worked is Veer’s foundation.
This foundation is no joke. I’m sure you’ve all seen those videos on Facebook of makeup artists drawing on their faces with permanent marker and effortlessly blending it away with a miracle foundation. Like me you’ve probably scoffed and though “yeah right!” But ya’ll this IS the real deal. It REALLY does cover up that thick, black sharpie mark. It’s a full coverage foundation and it instantly covered up all my acne marks and wrinkles. I looked in the mirror and felt fifteen years younger—which is a pretty great feeling because I am only 33.
The foundation comes in six different shades, so whatever your skin tone there is sure to be a matching hue. Another really great perk: if you dislike the shade you ordered, you can simply send it back to the company and they will exchange it for another color free of charge.
I also love that this makeup is not tested on animals (what can I say—I am an animal lover with two rescue dogs—this kind of stuff is important to me!)
As an added bonus, all the Veer ingredients are natural, so I like that I don’t feel as though I am covering my face (which is already very sensitive, mind you) with a bunch of hard to pronounce chemicals.
